Taylor Swift was the winner of one of the first awards of the night for Fortnite along with Post Malone, which won best collaboration. In her speech, Tay gushed about her song partner.

VMA’s host Megan Thee Stallion then hit the stage with a snake, paying homage to Britney Spears’ unforgettable python performance in 2001. Sabrina Carpenter made out with an alien during her performance, then took home the award for Song of the Year for Espresso. Katy Perry’s longtime love Orlando Bloom introduced her ahead of her video Vanguard Award and called her by her real name.

It actually was the most fun video to make, and something that I’ll always remember is that when I would finish a take and I’d say cut, someone cheering and like whoo from across the studio where we were shooting it, and that one person was my boyfriend, Travis.
