Speaker 1 (00:00):

Next up, ET. Can you believe it’s been 40 years since Steven Spielberg brought this lovable little guy down to earth?

Speaker 1 (00:15):

Well, now one lucky earthling has ET phoning a brand new home. The original mechanical ET sold at a weekend auction for a whopping two and a half million dollars. It was part of Julien’s Auctions’ Icons and Idols of Hollywood sale. Considered an engineering masterpiece of its time, the little legend stands around 43 inches tall. His life-like appearance and movements were known for helping create that real connection and bonds with the actors on the set of the movie. Drew Barrymore has even said that when she was little, when they were filming the movie, she would talk to ET. That little mechanical ET, and bring it lunch.

Speaker 3 (00:50):

Oh, that’s so sweet.

Speaker 1 (00:51):

Must look pretty real.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
