Tell us about yourself.

I’m from Dallas, Texas originally. About two and a half years ago, I moved to Argentina. It had always been a dream of mine. I go back and forth a few times a year to visit my family in Dallas. In addition to freelancing with Rev, I do some graphic design on the side.

Why do you freelance with Rev?

I freelance with Rev because I can do it from anywhere in the world. I live in Argentina now, but I’m from the Dallas area and go back home to visit family often. Whether I’m home in Texas or Argentina, or just traveling for fun, I can continue to make a living with Rev. I like that I can be flexible with my time. If I want to go on a vacation, I can choose how much or little I want to work. I really appreciate that I can keep living my life and not be concerned about asking for time off.

How did you learn about Rev and why did you choose to work as a transcriptionist?

When I was in the process of moving to Argentina, it was hard to find a job there from Texas. So I started looking for remote work that I could do from anywhere and came across Rev. Once I got accepted, I took a leap of faith and made the move to Argentina. I love that I can continue to work for Rev no matter where I am.

What do you enjoy most about working from home?

I like that I can choose my environment; sometimes I feel like working from home, other days I go to a coffee shop. Argentina is as big as the United States, so there a lot to see. Working remotely allows me to explore new places and work as much or little as I want while traveling.

What has your experience been like working for Rev?

It’s only gotten better over the two and a half years I’ve been doing it. With the new AI-generated first drafts, I don’t wear my hands out as much typing out an entire file. I also appreciate the new “best-effort” policy, which makes me feel more comfortable working on harder files. I actually really like transcribing the more difficult audio files now, whereas I used to shy away from them. I’ve also been able to earn more with the pay changes Rev made, so I like that I can save more.

What are the most memorable projects you’ve picked up through Rev?

I have a favorite customer I always keep an eye out for and then I also like law enforcement-related files. Those have always been really interesting to me.

What’s something that most people don’t know about you?

Hard to say! People are usually surprised when I tell them I rode a 350cc scooter from Dallas to Monterrey, Mexico to visit a friend without stopping. It didn’t hit me that it was odd until border patrol refused to believe I had just ridden there over 8 hours and had 3 more to go.
