All aboard the Trans-Script Express! A new year is upon us, and here at Rev, we’re taking the opportunity to reflect on an exciting year.
Together, we made great strides toward making every word actionable and accessible.
Rev Pro and Rev.ai both launched new features.
Our partnerships have expanded and deepened.
New events are popping up nearly every month. And our Revver freelancer community is still going strong!
From creating products that set the bar for speech-to-text excellence for our clients, to empowering our people, we thrived – and can’t wait to take it up a notch next year. Read on to learn about some of our most-proud 2021 wins.
Shine Bright in Media & Entertainment
First off, we’re looking forward to returning as the official captions provider for the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2022. We’ll be there on the ground in Utah, so look for us!
Closer to home, we had a spooky time at Alamo Drafthouse’s Fantastic Fest as the official accessibility sponsor. We also had a great time connecting with creatives as a silver sponsor at Adobe Max 2021.
Still on the film side, we also partnered with the Film Festival Alliance as an accessibility partner and captions provider. We launched script-based editing and customer-verified captions settings to support the creators applying to film festivals (and anyone else).
Education: We’re Always Learning
It was another tumultuous year for teachers and students across the board. To help educators review and prepare, we created the Higher Education Accessibility Report. We also partnered with Ziotag and Prezi for a series of educational webinars.
Additionally, we also created the State of Virtual Meetings Report to highlight changes and strategies for higher education in a more virtual world. Finally, we attended EDUCAUSE 2021 to continue building relationships within the education space.
The Power of Rev Pro
Across industries, supporting larger organizations and greater order volume means we need to innovate constantly. In 2021, we launched Premium Service Captions, the betas of Workspaces and Dashboards, and gained our SOC 2 Type 1 Certification. These new features focus on speed, collaboration, insights, and security.
Do More with Rev.ai
Our AI engine continues to learn on thousands of hours of transcripts, captions, and subtitles. At the same time, we continue to support AI needs. Our Global Voice Recognition AI is now available in 31 languages; we launched the Rev Startup Program and crushed it at the AI Summit in NYC as both a sponsor and presenter.
Accessibility for All
Whatever industry you’re in or level of Rev services you need, we’re here to support your accessibility needs. The Rev Meeting Assistant was launched to help people stay engaged in their interviews, meetings, and seminars. We also partnered with Dropbox for easy access to transcripts and captions.
Finally, our transcript library rounded up the most popular entries of 2021. Donald Trump’s “Save America” speech on January 6. Amanda Gorman’s “The Hill We Climb” inauguration poem. Donald Trump’s Turning Point Action speech in Arizona. Donald Trump’s CPAC 2021 speech in Texas. Rudy Giuliani’s “Trial by Combat” speech in Washington D.C.
Empowering Our People
Lastly, but most importantly–our people thrived. We launched onboarding webinars for rookie Revvers and added grade forgiveness (increasing productivity and providing relief from occasional bad grades). Internally, we beefed up our trophy shelf—receiving national recognition for promoting a heathy mix of both career and OoO life along with a bevy of top workplace awards on the local Austin front.
Looking for a fresh role in 2022? We’re hiring all across the org and would LOVE to hear from you.
Cheers to 2022!
